Unboxing and First Impressions of the EasySMX TG-01 Wireless Earbuds
Upon receiving the earbuds, the packaging was sleek and professional. The box included the earbuds themselves, a charging case, a USB charging cable, different sized silicon pads and a user manual. The earbuds themselves were lightweight and comfortable to wear and they fit snugly in the ear. Since the TG-01’s also come with three different sizes of ear tips, allowing for a customizable fit for each individual user, they didn’t seem to move around or fall out during use.
Pairing the earbuds with a device was a simple and straightforward process. The earbuds automatically enter pairing mode when taken out of the charging case, and they quickly connected to my phone and Quest 2 and Pro VR headsets without any issues using either the native Bluetooth mode or the additional 2.4ghz transmitter that is also included for low latency use cases such as VR headsets like the Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest Pro.

- The sound quality of the TG-01 wireless earbuds was impressive for their price point. The earbuds offer a clear and balanced sound, with good bass and treble although I would have prefered a little bit more on the low end but for the price point of these earbuds I can let that slide a bit. The 3d sound stage was also nice while playing virtual reality games and definitely helped to ramp up the immersion levels.
- The touch controls on the earbuds were easy to use and responsive. The earbuds allow for control of music playback, volume, and phone calls with just a few taps.
- The battery life of the TG-01 wireless earbuds was also impressive. The earbuds offer up to 5 hours of playback time on a single charge, with an additional 20 hours of battery life provided by the charging case. This makes the earbuds a great option for those who need a long-lasting pair of earbuds for use throughout the day.
But the star of the show in this setup for me was the included 2.4ghz transmitter. The addition of this device allows for almost latency free operation between the earbuds and your favorite VR headsets or gaming consoles. The transmitter plugs into a USB-C port and also comes with an included USB-C to USB-A adapter for devices that do not have the USB-C port available. This mode is great and finally eliminates the lag that can be seen in the headset and heard from tradional Bluetooth connected earbuds. While some people are not extremely sensative to this, it has always bothered me that the audio and video were slightly out of sync in my headset and the TG-01 deffinitely has solved this problem!
Another great feature of the 2.4ghz transmitter is the fact that it allows for passthrough charging while the Dongle is connected to the Quest 2 or Quest Pro. Unfortunately it doesn’t allow for Link Cable usage but for this use case you can just plug the transmitter into a free usb port on your PC and it works great!
